This is because the bonds we have with our furry friends are so strong that the idea of losing them can be too much to bear. However, when they become older, or when illnesses or injuries take their toll, you can see their quality of life start to decline. Once this happens, offering them a peaceful way to say goodbye is the greatest act of love you can give them.

The Loving Vet provides gentle, compassionate home pet euthanasia for dogs and cats across the North West of England and surrounding areas.

Based in Newton-le-Willows, I provide home euthanasia appointments throughout Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire and West Yorkshire, helping families in Liverpool, Manchester, St Helens, Warrington, Wigan, Leigh, Golborne, Bolton, Preston, Chorley, Skelmersdale, Ormskirk, Leeds and many surrounding areas. As a qualified veterinary surgeon, my aim is to help your pet experience a peaceful and dignified goodbye in the comfort of home, while giving you and your family the time, privacy and support you need. We offer a warm alternative to the cold setting of a clinic I offer evening, weekend and Bank Holiday appointments at no additional euthanasia charge, subject to availability. Private and communal pet cremation can also be arranged.

What Happens During a Home Euthanasia Appointment?

As a qualified veterinary surgeon (listed in the RCVS register as Benite Oddy), I have the utmost care and respect for your pet’s comfort at the forefront of my mind during the appointment. I will begin by dispensing a sedative to your pet to make sure they’re relaxed and feeling no pain. This ensures there’s a peaceful transition before the final euthanasia solution is gently provided. As I am taking these steps, I will provide support and reassurance to everyone present to make sure that the serene passing of your pet is dignified.

A Calm and Unhurried Visit

When I arrive at your home, I’ll explain what will happen and answer any questions you may have. There’s no need to move your pet somewhere unfamiliar. They can remain in their favourite place, surrounded by the people they love. This shared experience can offer a very real form of comfort and closure to everyone present.

Providing The Right Support For Every Owner

My service goes beyond just taking physical care of your pet. I recognise the deep emotional impact that this scenario has on people, and in turn, I will offer care that is right for each and every household, who all have their own personal grief. Opting for my at-home pet euthanasia service also gives you the chance to create a touching tribute to your little loved one. Often, families like to hold a small ceremony that reflects on their pet’s life and the memories they shared with them. Afterwards

You can spend some quiet time with your pet following their passing. If you’ve chosen cremation, I can arrange private or communal cremation and explain the available options.

He made an unbearable time feel just a little less overwhelming, and I will never forget the kindness and reassurance he gave us when we needed it most.

When you imagine the day your pet will pass, all you can hope for is that it will be peaceful, calm and beautiful; a moment filled with love rather than fear. That is exactly what Bee and Jordan gave to us. They allowed Oscar's final moments to be about what they should always be about: love, comfort and the bond we shared with him.

Losing Oscar has left a space in our hearts that can never be filled, but knowing that his final moments were so peaceful is something we will carry with us forever.

To Bee and Jordan, thank you for treating our boy with such tenderness and for treating us with such kindness when our hearts were breaking. You gave us something truly precious during the most difficult time of our lives, and for that, my heart will always be genuinely, deeply grateful.

How much does home pet euthanasia cost?

The cost of home euthanasia depends on your pet and the services you require. I provide clear pricing information on my services and costs page so you know what to expect before arranging an appointment. Private and communal cremation can also be arranged if required.

Will my dog or cat feel any pain during euthanasia?

Your pet’s comfort is my priority. I begin by administering a small injectable sedative to help your dog or cat become relaxed and sleepy before giving the final euthanasia medication. My aim is to make the experience as peaceful and comfortable as possible.

How quickly can I arrange a home euthanasia appointment?

We can usually accommodate an appointment for a gentle goodbye within 2 to 3 days and are sometimes available for same day bookings tho we do encourage families to try and book ahead as unfortunately we can’t guarantee availability in an emergency ❤️

Do you offer evening and weekend appointments?

Yes. I offer evening, weekend and Bank Holiday appointments, subject to availability, with no additional charge for appointments at these times.

Can you arrange cremation for my pet?

Yes. We offer a private or communal cremation package so you can choose what feels right for you and your family after your pet’s passing.

A private cremation means your pet is individually cremated and their ashes are available for collection from the crematorium or delivery to your address. A communal cremation means your pet is cremated communally with other pets and their ashes are unavailable for collection or return to you.

I’m based in Newton-le-Willows and provide home pet euthanasia throughout many areas of Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire and West Yorkshire.

These include Liverpool, Manchester, St Helens, Warrington, Wigan, Preston, Leeds and many surrounding towns. We do have a travel surcharge if your location is more than an hour from WA12 8RG and we only travel up to 1 hour and 15 minutes from this postcode.
